About
The challenge plays a key role, in the process behind the work of Nikolaj Steenfatt. He believes that its important to challenge, not just him self as a designer, but also the material properties and production process in every project he do. How can random developments be allowed to influence the outcome in an industrialized process? How can we take advantage of new materials or processes to create relevant products? How can we achieve more with less? As a designer, we are committed to do our best in all aspects every time. The products deserve no less.
Nikolaj Steenfatt was born in Aabenraa, Denmark in 1987 and now lives and works in Copenhagen. He graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design in 2013. His work has been honoured with scholarships and design awards, and is represented at Designmuseum Danmark and Trapholt – Museum of Modern Art and Design.
Nikolaj Steenfatt also works with different designers and design groups. He is partner in Edvard & Steenfatt with designer Jonas Edvard. Since 2014 he has been assisted Copenhagen based designer Boris Berlin, and has contributed to the work of Iskos-Berlin and Boris Berlin Design in that period. In 2018 Nikolaj Steenfatt became member of the board at the Danish design group Danish Design Makers.
